• Battlefield 6 Open Beta Weekend 2 runs from August 14-17 with daily rotating playlists and multiple game modes.
  • DICE added a Custom Search feature that lets players choose preferred map and mode combinations for matchmaking.
  • The beta attracted over 500,000 Steam players during Weekend 1 and aims to gather feedback before the October launch.

DICE has announced the launch of Battlefield 6 Open Beta Weekend 2, which begins today at 8 am UTC and runs through Sunday, August 17. The developer has introduced significant changes following feedback from the inaugural beta weekend, which attracted over 500,000 concurrent players on Steam alone.

Weekend 2 brings expanded gameplay options with multiple playlists rotating daily. Players can now access various game modes, including Conquest, Breakthrough, Rush, and Squad Deathmatch across different configurations. DICE emphasized that playlist rotation is a testing mechanism to gather community preferences before the October launch.

Daily Playlist Schedule Offers Variety

The beta weekend features a structured daily rotation system. Thursday introduces five playlists, including Conquest, Rush, and a Close Quarters option featuring smaller maps. Friday expands the selection with Squad Deathmatch and the full All-Out Warfare playlist, combining Conquest, Breakthrough, and Rush modes.

Weekend sessions on Saturday and Sunday maintain four core playlists. The All-Out Warfare playlist remains available throughout, offering large-scale battles across expansive maps. Close Quarters continues to provide fast-paced action on smaller battlefields with modes like Domination and King of the Hill.

Each playlist includes detailed in-game descriptions explaining which modes are active during rotation periods. DICE confirmed that daily playlist rotation is specific to the beta testing phase and will not continue at launch.

Custom Search Feature Enhances Player Control

DICE has introduced a Custom Search feature for Weekend 2 based on community feedback. This system allows players to select preferred map and mode combinations, with matchmaking prioritizing these choices when available.

Players can specify combinations such as Conquest on Siege of Cairo, giving them greater control over their gaming experience. The Custom Search applies to Open Weapon mode playlists, enabling players to mix and match their preferred settings.

The developer clarified that Custom Search differs from a traditional Server Browser, which remains unavailable during this testing phase. The feature aims to address player requests for more control over match selection while maintaining the beta’s testing objectives.

Weekend 2 maintains the same fundamental structure as the previous beta while incorporating community-requested improvements. The expanded playlist variety and Custom Search functionality demonstrate DICE’s commitment to refining the experience based on player feedback.
