- Ninjas in Pyjamas has been removed from WSOW after player Stewo received a permanent ban.
- The ban is linked to alleged third-party software use, though Stewo denies any wrongdoing.
- Teammates KINGAJ and Omenic will try to qualify through the last-chance qualifier on August 21.
Ninjas in Pyjamas (NIP) has been removed from the 2025 World Series of Warzone (WSOW) following a permanent ban issued to team member Steve ‘Stewo’ Fuckner. The Swedish esports organization will no longer compete in the Global Finals later this year.
The ban, which Activision attributes to unauthorized use of third-party software, has sparked controversy. Stewo maintains his innocence and denies any wrongdoing. With NIP removed from the EMEA Regional Final, Alex ‘KINGAJ’ Graham and Stanley ‘Omenic’ Mcleman aim to qualify through the last-chance qualifier on August 21, 2025.
Omenic voiced frustration online, stating, “We have been removed from WSOW due to Activision’s faulty anti-cheat… Honestly, a joke of a game.” The duo will not be permitted to substitute a replacement for Stewo.
EMEA and NA Finals Move Forward
Despite NIP’s exit, the WSOW Regional Finals continue across North America and Europe from July 22 to 30. Fifty teams from each region will compete in six matches. The top 15 from each group advance to the Global Final, while the bottom 35 move to the last-chance qualifier.
Eight teams from Latin America and Asia Pacific have already secured their places in the final event.
Activision has yet to announce the location and date for the WSOW Global Final. The prize pool remains $1 million, attracting international attention from the Warzone and esports communities.
The situation surrounding Stewo’s ban raises questions about Activision’s anti-cheat enforcement. NIP signed the roster in May but has not officially commented on the team’s future.
