- Snoop Dogg sold nearly one million NFTs on Telegram in 30 minutes and generated $12 million in sales.
- The collection included digital cars, dogs, and marijuana-themed items that can be displayed on user profiles.
- This success challenges beliefs about the dead NFT market during declining trading volumes.
American rapper Snoop Dogg has generated $12 million in sales after selling nearly one million non-fungible tokens (NFTs) on Telegram within 30 minutes on Wednesday. The collection’s rapid sellout challenges widespread beliefs that the NFT market has lost momentum.
The digital gift collection featured approximately 996,000 NFTs built on the TON blockchain. Telegram founder Pavel Durov announced the success on X, describing the collection as inspired by Snoop’s signature style. The secondary market and blockchain minting will launch in 21 days.
Collection Features Diverse Digital Assets
The NFT collection included various animated items reflecting Snoop Dogg’s persona. Collectors could purchase vintage cars, swag bags, digital dogs, marijuana-themed objects, and other symbolic items. These Telegram Gifts function as animated profile images that users can display or convert into the platform’s internal currency called Stars.
Snoop Dogg released a companion track titled “Gifts” alongside a music video showcasing the available collectibles. Social media users praised the collaboration, with many viewing the successful launch as positive news for the struggling NFT sector.
The collection’s success comes during a challenging period for NFTs. Industry data reveals significant declines in trading volumes and transactions throughout 2025. NFT volumes dropped 61% in the first quarter to $1.5 billion compared to $4.1 billion in the previous year.
Recent performance remains weak, with 30-day sales volumes falling 41% to $403 million. Transaction counts have decreased by more than 55% during the same period, according to CryptoSlam data.
Telegram Gifts Present Unique Utility
NFT lead at TON, posting under the handle Zenith, explained that Telegram Gifts have existed since January 2025, beginning with the “Plush Pepe” collection. The analyst suggested Snoop Dogg’s positive reception could signal a new NFT narrative, though acknowledged uncertainty about broader market implications.
Telegram Gifts offer distinctive functionality through profile display capabilities. Users can showcase their digital assets directly on their Telegram profiles, creating social status and personalization opportunities.
Zenith speculated that other major brands and Web3 intellectual properties might launch similar gift collections. However, the analyst emphasized the unpredictable nature of market trends and brand adoption strategies.
Snoop Dogg’s NFT History
Snoop Dogg has maintained consistent involvement in the NFT space since 2021. The rapper launched the Snoop Dogg Passport Series in June 2023, offering holders exclusive access to behind-the-scenes content, videos, and photographs.
Previous ventures include the Doggies NFT collection, created through a partnership with the Sandbox metaverse platform in February 2022. These projects established Snoop Dogg as a prominent celebrity figure in digital collectibles.
The latest Telegram collaboration represents his continued commitment to blockchain technology and crypto innovation. Despite broader industry challenges, the rapid sellout demonstrates sustained fan interest and market appetite for celebrity-backed NFT projects.
